Actors Jack Lowden, Peter Capaldi and director/writer Terence Davies attend London Film Festival deb

(15 Oct 2021) TERENCE DAVIES’ ’BENEDICTION’ SHOWS AT LONDON FILM FESTIVAL Terence Davies’ film “Benediction“ debuted at the London Film Festival Friday (15 ) evening. The film, written and directed by Davies, stars Jack Lowden as poet Siegfried Sassoon, alongside Peter Capaldi, who plays an older Sassoon.  Both actors joined Davies at the gala screening. The drama explores Sassoon’s life as a writer and soldier during World War I. The film was shot during the COVID-19 pandemic and star Lowden—recently nominated for a BAFTA for his role in Steve McQueen’s “Mangrove“ --  said that making a film during the pandemic at first felt “a bit stupid.“ “It was such a wonderful whatever it was, eight weeks, during quite a rubbish time, it was during COVID, when it was sort of, when the idea of shooting a film was a bit bizarre and kind of felt a bit stupid.
