Garachico, Tenerife | The Town that Rose From the Ashes

We rode up to the north of Tenerife to visit the “Phoenix of Tenerife”; Garachico. After a devastating volcanic eruption in 1706, most of the town of Garachico was destroyed. But instead of feeling defeated, to residents of Garachico sought to immediately rebuild the town. Not just to rebuild it, but to build it even better than before. It’s now often thought of as the most beautiful town on the island!
