Faults are related to earthquakes and we have excellent evidence for a magnitude 7.0 or greater earthquake on the Seattle Fault 1100 years ago. Alki Point, Restoration Point (Bainbridge Island) and tsunami evidence near Everett are all connected to the 900 A.D. Seattle Fault earthquake. The 900 A.D. quake produced 21 feet of sudden uplift at some locations.
