The Wampler Clarksdale Overdrive takes its name from the birthplace of the delta blues, Clarksdale, Mississippi, and just like its namesake, this pedal is rich with history and musicality. The Clarksdale is Brian Wampler’s long-awaited take on the most classic of overdrive circuits, the venerable Tubescreamer. Of course Wampler would never release just any old ’screamer clone, so the Clarksdale is outfitted with a range of improvements, including a three-band EQ for mating the pedal to any guitar and amp combination, and a Lift/Smooth toggle switch for warming up rhythm tones or adding some sting to solos. Wampler has further fine-tuned the Clarksdale to avoid the “fizziness“ that is endemic to Tubescreamer circuits when used in the extreme ends of the gain range, increasing usability whether it’s dialed in for a bit of low-gain breakup, or cranked up for molten, full-bore saturation. Like all Wampler creations, the Clarksdale is handmade in the USA
