Note that the Surya suktam belongs to the early rigvedic period and the purush suktam belonged to the mature vedic period. Though both come from the Rig veda. Vedic sanskrit and Classical sanskrit belong to the same continuum there is no foundational difference, only subtle changes which occurred with time. Vedic sanskrit evolved in 2000-800Bc, classical was in full bloom by 400AD. Classical subsumes the Vedic Sanskrit within its order.
