Sanderling feeding in sync with the waves

Often you see Sanderlings running back and forth on the beach, picking or probing for tiny prey in the wet sand left by receding waves. Legs are just a blur and you may ask yourself if they are catching anything? Here is a short video played at normal and slowed down speed.
