Ch. Tournemire - Improvisation sur le “Te Deum“ (transcription M. Duruflé)

Charles Tournemire made a recording in 1931 at Sainte-Clothile. In1958 Maurice Duruflé published a transcription of a series of 5 improvisations based on these recordings, some of which became very popular like e.g. the “Victimae Pascali“. The no. 3 “Te Deum“ is spectacular in its use of the full organ. Loek Jehee plays on the Cavaillé-Coll organ at St. Étienne, Caen. Sample set by Sonus Paradisi.
