Suzette Tarri on a set resembling a front parlour, describes her life as a spinster called Winnie Waller, her search for men and those she meets. She is unwrapping a kipper at beginning of sketch.
First part of monologue is in verse to off screen piano accompaniment and describes events at at a golf club, including how she saved a golf ball from going down a little hole and returned it to the man who lost it.
Without musical accompaniment she explains how she met her current boyfriend, Bert, as they were both strolling along the street - “You know how one thing leads to another - if you’re lucky“! She talks of the dangers of being a spinster and tells the story of how she found a man in her bedroom and gave him “twenty four hours to get out“. He takes a look at her and replies that a minute will do.
