Niggun _____ Bassoon: Pascal Gallois Year of Recording: 2013 _____ This challenging piece was composed in 1993 for Pascal Gallois, and was premiered by him at the 1994 Festival de Kumo in Finland. The music is very lyrical and somewhat pitch-centric, and spans the full range up to Eb5, with an “ossia” that includes an F5. Multiphonics and tongue-slaps are the only extended techniques called for, with suggested fingerings provided.
