Tuli Beats Herman (1953)

Belle Vue, Manchester. Flyweight boxing between Jake Tuli of South Africa and Vic Herman of Glasgow. Tuli wins on points. SV. Jake Tuli climbs into ring, walks over and greets Herman (1st 7ft for super). STV Tuli returns to corner, Vic Herman resins shoes. CU. Herman’s shoes in resin pan. SV. Crowd at ringside. LV. Start of fight. SV. Herman rushes in but Tuli ties him up. TV. Both holding, then Tuli breaks loose and throws a right swing to Herman’s head, but Herman was out of range. SV. Tuli chases Herman round ring. Herman slips when trying to avoid this rather wild attack. He is quickly up. TV. Herman again shows superior ring craft, making Tuli miss in very easy fashion. CU Timekeeper ringing end of round. TV. Boxers going to corners. CU. Herman receiving attention in corner. CU. Tuli having “facial“ in corner. TV. Boxers shake and start last round. CU. Tuli advances and starts two handed attack. TV. Herman fights back and both boxers slam away, but each spoil and stop any telling punches. CU. Teddy Wa
