fitting a wrap on tip top guide to a fishing rod

Wrap on tip top guides are a bit belt and braces but that extra leg of metal almost guarantees you are not going to lose your top if the line gets tangled on the cast, but i am not sure your rod will survive. With ordinary tip tops I tend to just blob a bit of glue down tube and onto the rod and wipe of the excess, but wiping wrap on guides can be a mission in itself hence the injecting down the tube and slowly pushing it on so the excess resin runs out the little gap at the end, it is never a snug fit so there is always space foe the glue to do its job. A little bit of wax helps the excess resin drip off.
