Surveyor Soft Landing On Moon AKA Surveyor Moon Flight (1966)

Cape Kennedy (Cape Canaveral), Florida, United States of America / USA Various shots, the Surveyor, a spider-like unmanned spacecraft with legs and antenna, camera mountings, is set for a soft landing on the moon. (Poor picture quality). LS Dramatic shot of the Surveyor blasting off on an Atlas Centaur rocket (no camera tilt). LS Rocket goes through clouds. CU Animation of rocket in flight showing the protective panels and nose coating dropping away, then four minutes after launch, the Atlas booster separates. Twelve minutes after launch, the Centaur separates leaving the Surveyor to continue alone. The animation continues showing the Surveyor’s approach to the Moon’s surface and its final descent.
