Silversmith (1965)

Berkshire. Country house scenes. Large house seen in L/S. Two Labrador dogs jump up at a woman who is cutting branches from a creeper. Gerald Benney, silversmith works at home designing silverware. He designed the altar plate for Coventry Cathedral and fluted maces for five English universities. Narrator states that “As so much of his silverware is too costly for ordinary people to own, Gerald Benney has now turned his talent to designing cutlery in stainless steel as well as in silver“. Works which the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths “has been proud to display“. Various shots of Gerald at work designing silverware then shots of his one of his creations being polished.
