Have you seen that weird stomach thing yogis do & have been trying to figure it out? Here’s your instructional video on how to do NAULI KRIYA - which is a cleansing technique to remove toxins.
A few things to note:
-This is for more advanced yogis who are comfortable with breath retention.
-You want to do this on an empty stomach, preferably first thing in the morning, after you’ve pooped and before you eat anything.
-Please avoid this if you are pregnant/menstruating, have hypertension, or any gastrointestinal issues.
Here are some of the Nauli Kriya Benefits:
-massage of the internal organs such as the stomach, liver, spleen, urinary bladder, pancreas, gall bladder, and large and small intestine to improve their function - digestion/ elimination of toxins will be on point
-it helps the body stoke the digestive fires
-stimulates the manipura (first) chakra, which is great for increasing mental clarity, boosts metabolism, and strengthens the immune system
-gives you a boost of energy
-allows you to access your abdominal muscles for your physical yoga practice (my handstand / arm balance practice improved because of this)
What is kriya?
A ’kriya is a set of practices in yoga that are usually breath control techniques and exercises. In Sanskrit it means “completed action.“
To follow proper kriya yoga technique take things in stages, find a qualified yoga teacher (I do online private classes), and be as consistent with your practice as much as possible.
