-- PRESENTATION: SŌSUISHI RYŪ KOGUSOKU KOSHI-NO-MAWARI (KŌSONKAI) --
The Sosuishi Ryu school was founded around 1655 by Futagami Han-no-suke Masa-aki. It is a “Sogobujutsu”, a comprehensive martial art, covering multiple battle situations thank to Iai techniques and Jujutsu techniques, with and without a complete set of ancient armor. Weapons used for training are essentially Iaito, Tachi, and other smaller weapons.
The techniques were directly inspired by the most ancient Jujutsu school in Japan, Take-no-uchi Ryu. They were developed in Kyushu first, but one of the disciples brought them with him when he moved to Tokyo in 1888, creating a second branch, the Sōsuishi Ryu Kumiuchi Koshi no Mawari. It is that branch that is demonstrated here.
