Composer: Tomoya Nakai. Arrangement: Eva Alkula
Eva Alkula is playing 38-string Koistinen Concert H, N:o 8 , made by Hannu Koistinen. The instrument type won the 1st and 2nd places in the concert kantele blind test in Ikaalinen (1993).
Motion is composed in 2006. This rather minimalistic work is broadly divided into two parts, stillness and motion. Being alive means motion. If you would describe “motion“ with one Chinese character it would be 動 (move), emotion (感動), pulse (鼓動), prime mover (原動), exercise (運動), fetal movements (胎動) etc., all connected with the character 動. Life is about motion. This work encourages us to be determined in everyday life, to be in motion.
