Hezbollah chief warns Israel over impending invasion
Hezbollah’s deputy secretary general Sheikh Naim Qassem said on Monday (Sept 30) the group would appoint a new leader at the earliest opportunity to replace Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and vowed that the Iran-backed movement would continue fighting Israel.

“The Islamic resistance will continue to confront the Israeli enemy in support of Gaza and Palestine, in defense of Lebanon and its people, and in response to assassinations and the killing of civilians,” said Qassem.
Qassem’s 19-minute, televised address marked the first by a top Hezbollah leader since Nasrallah was killed on Friday (Sept 27) in an Israeli airstrike, in a huge blow to the group as it reels from an escalating Israeli campaign of attacks.
