“Dok Champa“ from the Silk Road Sonata
Dok Champa is the Lao name of the frangipani flower, the national symbol of Laos. It is also the name of a famous Lao folk song cherished by Laotians over the whole world.
The Silk Road Sonata is a musical encounter between the Chinese Erhu master Guo Gan and the Belgian composer Walter Hus, accompanied by Hus’ unique orchestral setup of organ and percussion automats, the Decap Orchestrion.
