Katakataka (Filipino Folk Song with English Translation - Covered by Gab Garde and Mutiara Azka)

Check out our cover of Buwan by Juan Karlos! Azka and I sang it in Filipino and Bahasa Indonesia! Azka (who is, in fact, Indonesian) and I covered Katakataka, a Filipino folk song about an unlikely romance, whose origin and history I know nothing about. Azka’s Filipino accent has gotten quite convincing, I think. I’m wearing a Barong Tagalog, and Azka is wearing a Maria Clara-style Filipiniana dress. Aside from the classical guitar and percussion, I’m playing a Philippine bandurria, a 14-stringed version of the Spanish instrument. It was so hard to translate it into English and have it still make sense but that’s best we could do; oh well Azka’s channel:
