Saris (1955)

London. Sent for rewashing - dirt on neg. Will be retransferred. L/S of woman standing in a room with large swathes of fabric decorating the walls and floor. She is wrapping a piece of fabric around her body. The narrator speaks of the “art of dress“ and the Sari of India and Ceylon (Sri Lanka). Miss Manil Wearakoon (or Maniel Weerakoon?) has a collection of over 300 Saris. She explains how to wear a Sari over a shots of her wrapping the Sari around her waist and over her shoulder. Good C/Us of her attaching the fabric around her waist and of her face as she concentrates on her task.
