It was about time I posted a song from the wonderful - and underrated - Cissy Houston. Midnight Train To Georgia became a hit when Gladys Knight & The Pips covered it, but Cissy Houston has the original. Jim Weatherly performed the first version of this song, under te title “Midnight Plane to Houston“. Cissy Houston has a wonderful voice, you can easilly tell where Whitney’s got her talent from. It’s a shame Cissy isn’t a more well known solo artist. She is mostly known as a great backup singer for artists like Elvis Presley and Aretha Franklin. I recommed listening to Cissy’s songs more, they are beautiful.
