NHS Selling Access to YOUR Data

From 1 July, the NHS will share YOUR DATA for a price, unless you opt out. Many of you may not be aware that the NHS are going to start sharing [selling access to] your medical data. 10 years of it, and more. The amount of data to be shared is significant. All GP practices’ data will be complied onto a central database including data about diagnoses, symptoms, observations, test results, medications, allergies, immunisations, referrals, recalls and appointments, including information about physical, mental and sexual health, data on sex, ethnicity and sexual orientation, data about staff who have treated patients. This is an OPT-OUT - not an OPT-IN - meaning you are IN unless you tell your GP not to share your data. I have set up a petition on to get this changed, check it out here:
