If you’re in the same situation and are really glad to find this video, PLEASE LIKE AND COMMENT so! I’m so curious about how many people are interested and are as disgruntled as I am with this foot pedal. Thanks!

So you’re doing some intricate bag detailing, and all the sudden because of how you foot is sitting, your thread cutter decides to cut your thread for you even though that’s absolutely not what you want. Besides startling the heck out of you, then you have to go back and redo that seam. SUCH A PITA!
The TL-2010Q may be one of the best sewing machine you can possibly get, but that automatic thread cutter foot pedal thing drove me nuts, to the point where I mostly preferred using my other machine on intricate work.
Far as I’ve been able to find, Juki doesn’t sell a pedal without a thread cutter. They do sell a little rubber thing that you can hook to the base of the pedal, but it only prevents cutting about half the time. It’s such garbage, waste of money.
It’s pretty easy to permanently modify the pedal though. Pop the pedal apart carefully and insert a piece of rubber or plastic to stop the slide from going all the way back. Putting it back together will take you several minutes until you figure it out.
BTW, the tubing in the video is the same tubing I use to cut little bobbin thread wraps to keep thread from unwinding.
