Borodin Biysk is located in Altai Krai in southern Siberia. On February 29, 1708 , Peter I signed a decree on the construction of a fortress, Biyskaya, at the source of the River Ob. However in the summer of 1710, the wooden fortress was destroyed by mogul raiders. and only restored in 1718 at a new location - 20 km upstream of the Biya, on the right bank of the river. Until 1779 Biyskaya fortress was part of the Tobolsk province.........
