Chechen warlord Ramzan Kadyrov said he would send his troops to fight in Bakhmut. Kadyrov’s May 5 vow follows Yevgeny Prigozhin’s announcement that Wagner fighters would withdraw from Bakhmut. Prigozhin has declared that his mercenaries would leave Bakhmut, where they have been engaged in brutal combat for months, on May 10. It appeared that Prigozhin was attempting to put pressure on the Kremlin with his threat of a withdrawal from Bakhmut.
