2014 THROWBACK: “BRONX BODEGA SHOOTING AND PISTOL WHIPPING CAUGHT ON CAMERA“

CLAREMONT (WABC) -- A shooting victim is in critical condition after he was attacked inside a bodega in the Bronx over the weekend, and police are hoping surveillance video will lead to an arrest. The incident happened on Webster Avenue in the Claremont section just after 1 a.m. Saturday. No arrests have been made at this point, but the NYPD has released graphic video that gives a clear picture of what the gunman looks like. WARNING: Some may find the raw video disturbing. The video shows a man with the braided hair wearing a red shirt and a green hat opening fire on another man inside the deli. Apparently, they had previously gotten in an argument. The handgun is clearly visible, and after the shooting, the suspect beats the victim with the weapon. The suspect and his friends then step over the victim, who is lying on the floor, and leave. The deli is open on Saturday and Sunday until 2 a.m. The remainder of the time, the door is locked and sales are done through the window. The clerk says he is now afraid to work there, because while the neighborhood has always been rough, it has gotten worse. The victim remains at Lincoln Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition. The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s, with braided hair and a dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a red polo shirt, a green baseball hat and blue jeans, armed with a handgun. #bronx
