Aircraft Carrier John F. Kennedy (CVN 79) Launched

Huntington Ingalls Industries’ Newport News Shipbuilding division launched the U.S. Navy’s newest nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, John F. Kennedy (CVN 79), into the James River on December 16, 2019. Outfitting and testing of the ship’s systems will continue until the ship is delivered to the U.S. Navy in 2022.
