A SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket launched NASA’s Europa Clipper spacecraft from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at Kennedy Space Center, Florida, on 14 October 2024, at 16:06 UTC (12:06 EDT). Due to mission requirements, the boosters (B1064, B1065, B1089) were not planned to be recovered. The side boosters (B1064, B1065) previously supported USSF-44, USSF-67, USSF-52, Hughes JUPITER 3 and NASA’s Psyche mission. NASA’s Europa Clipper spacecraft will perform close flybys of Jupiter’s moon Europa to determine whether there are places below the surface that could support life.
