️🇮🇱🇵🇸 Israeli-Palestinian conflict chronicles: February 21-22, 2024
▪️Amid the return of refugees, Palestinian militias are becoming more active in Gaza and surrounding areas. Militants have clashed with Israeli patrols and fired mortars at IDF positions.
▪️In response, the Israelis have launched artillery and air strikes on various parts of the city. It is not uncommon for civilians in areas where Hamas is active to be targeted.
▪️Shots continue to be fired in the central part of the Gaza Strip, where the front line is static for the time being. Strikes are recorded almost daily in every major locality in the isthmus between the north and south of the enclave.
▪️In the south of the enclave, the IDF is operating in the area of Al-Amal Hospital, and Palestinians are attempting to ambush them from tunnels. However, the Israelis have also withdrawn some of their forces, with the last reserve brigade recently leaving the Gaza Strip.
▪️There has been a noticeable increase in the number of strikes on Rafah and nearby areas, where the Israelis are methodically liquidate suspicious targets. This may indicate some preparation by the IDF for action near the enclave’s border with Egypt.
▪️At the same time, mass arrests and clashes are taking place in the West Bank. Israeli units are preparing for protests and demonstrations to mark the month of Ramadan.
▪️The routine exchange of strikes on the Lebanese-Israeli border continues. As before, Hezbollah strikes border installations, while the IDF attacks identified rocket launch sites.
