“Going To The High Street Is A Challenge” | Surge In Firms Going BUST
New figures from the Insolvency Service reveal that 25,551 businesses went bust last year, surpassing the 25,186 that collapsed during the 2008 financial crisis.
Insolvencies in England and Wales jumped 16% year-on-year as tough trading conditions took their toll. In July alone, 2,191 companies couldn’t pay their debts, including 320 compulsory liquidations—the highest monthly total since before COVID-19.
