You deserve the glory - Eva-Lena Hellmark

Eva-Lena Hellmark sings her worship song “You deserve the glory“ You Deserve the Glory - background In 1987 I was still busy with our three young children. There was not much time for anything else, but every so often I managed to sneak off for a while to the piano. Often those times turned into a time of sharing my joys and worries with God. It was on one of those days that the words of “You Deserve the Glory” were expressed and jotted down on the back of a child’s drawing. Later on, I shared the song with the church we were a part of at the time. There was a visitor from a Bible School and he shared the song with his fellow students. From there the song took on “a life if its own” and it has been amazing to see what God can do with the little we have to offer to Him. Just like the little boy who brought a few fish and some bread to Jesus and how He turned it into a meal that fed thousands of people! “You Deserve the Glory” has spread all over the world by now. I have lost track of how many languages it has been translated into, but what has thrilled me the most is that people often seem to believe that the song first was written in their language! They have made it theirs! That is wonderful! The song is coming from their own hearts, it is not just imported! I spent 30 minutes composing the song more than 30 years ago, the rest has had very little to do with me. God truly deserves the Glory! Eva-Lena Hellmark
