Calliope Mori x Reol - Carousel Of Imaginary Images (Metal Remix)

First song on Jigoku 6! I’ve been looking forward to covering ever since its original release. It’s a perfect setup for the rest of the EP, combining rock and rap in a single, high-energy package. It’s also cool to hear both Calli and Reol reflect on the utter madness that is the music industry. I’ve heard Reol is someone Calli has looked up to since high school, so them collaborating for real is awesome to see! Perhaps unsurprisingly, this song lent itself really well for a heavy metal reimagining. I’ve been itching to do another super-fast, thrashy tune since Berserker. Much like with that remix, Trivium was a pretty big influence here, since a few of their songs have a similar fast-paced energy Carousel, though some parts do have a more whimsical feel to them.
