Madison County Deputies Shot at While Conducting Search Warrant at Anderson Motel

* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) * Anderson, Indiana — On May 16, 2023, around 10:30 a.m. two Madison County Sheriff’s Department deputies were attempting to serve felony warrants on Brooke Badger and Jon Niccum at the Motel 6 in Anderson. In this process, Jon Niccum produced a handgun and shot at one of the deputies after he entered the room. One officer retuned fire and both deputies retreated to take cover. Ultimately, Jon Niccum took his own life before SWAT officers made entry into the room. NIccum was wanted on two felony warrants for violation of work release and escape. During the exchange of shots, Badger ran from the motel.
