Andy Gibb - An Everlasting Love

In 1986 Andy Gibb phoned his longtime friend and Allied Artists’ CEO Kim Richards at the last minute and asked him to run sound for his appearance on the March of Dimes Telethon. It seems someone had just contacted Andy in need of star-power, to help drive up donations. Despite no opportunity to rehearse, no meaningful sound check and basically volunteer backup singers, Andy went out and performed “An Everlasting Love.“ Mr. Richards recalls “I have to admit that I did a horrible job that day. The blend of the backup singers’ voices was terrible, but Andy made the show by just being Andy. The depth of his emotion, his stage presence, audience interaction and personality overshadowed all of the imperfections. Donations soared during and after his performance turning fears into jubilance. There will never be another performer that strikes the same effect on an audience as Andy did.“ For further information: Clip Courtesy: Kim Richards Produc
