DIY summer linen set. Sewing a linen skirt. Part 2

Hi, my name is Julia and welcome to my channel! Please support me by subscribing to my channel for more sewing videos. So, here is the second part of sewing the matching set! In this video I want to be sharing a step-by-step tutorial on how to make the button up skirt. For sewing this skirt you need about 0.8 - 1m or 1yard of fabric (linen, cotton). Well, you’ll need to cut out the skirt piece in fold. That’s why the width of your skirt shouldn’t be bigger than the width of the fabric (1/2hips 10cm ease 4cm). If the width of your skirt is bigger than the width of the fabric in fold, you should unfold the fabric and cut the pieces in on layer. That’s why you need more fabric ( one length of the skirt). Also you need buttons (about 7). My measurements: ⁃ bust - 88cm (34.6”) ⁃ waist - 70cm (27.6”) ⁃ hips - 96cm (37.8”) ⁃ back length - 42cm (16.5”) ⁃ shoulders - 39cm (15.4”) ⁃ height - 168cm (3.3 ft) 00:00 Intro 00:26 Cutting out the skirt pieces 01:17 Pressing the pieces before sewing 03:37 Making mitered corners for the skirt 06:33 Sewing the waistband 11:55 How to sew buttons and buttonholes 15:15 Final result I hope that this videos has inspired you to have a go at potentially making a linen matching set for yourself.
