South Korea, U.S. security chiefs discuss stronger deterrence amid N. Korea’s shelling, military cooperation with Russia 한미 국가안보실장 통화, 북한 도발 및 러북 군사협력 가운데 공조 강화 추진 The top security chiefs of Seoul and Washington have reaffirmed their commitment to bolstering the bilateral alliance following North Korea’s recent provocations, and its military cooperation with Russia. According to South Korea’s presidential office, the newly appointed National Security Advisor Chang Ho-jin held his first phone call with his U.S. counterpart Jake Sullivan on Wednesday. Chang expressed his willingness to further develop their “global comprehensive strategic alliance“ in various fields while Sullivan reportedly said he would like to further strengthen the strong ROK-U.S. alliance this year.
