Deadly car bombing in Afghan capital Kabul targets acting defence minister

The car bombing took place in the upmarket Sherpur neighbourhood, inside a high-security area of the capital known as the green zone. The district is home to several senior government officials including the Afghan Defence Minister Bismillah Khan Mohammadi, who said he was the target of the assault that happened near a guest house at his home.
