Challenged with building a campaign around 2 similar, yet distinct complexion products launching at the same time, @brittybirt and I came up with the overarching story “A Study of Heat“: an exploration of duality -- natural-based warmth vs. passionate flash of heat (later renamed to “A Study of Attraction“). Beyond expressing the 2 sides of heat with color and texture (sweltering earth vs smoldering heat), I also wanted to tap into the contrast of @madspaige’s feminine and masculine presentations to add another layer. While wearing our Head Rush Blush, their tenderly seductive expressions encapsulated a sultrier side of heat rooted in sensuous femininity; we then juxtaposed it with a tougher, masculine-inspired representation of arid earth baking under an unforgiving desert sun for our Heat Spell Bronzer. I didn’t get to dig into this particular push/pull as much as I would’ve liked to in campaign execution, but I’m very happy with how the final images turned out! ...
