A Lyric video for Wendy McNeill’s song ’Owl and Boy’ from her album One Colour More. In this song, a troubled 8 year old Home Child stumbles across a young Burrowing Owl in a field. His new feathered friend offers consolation and some good advice. Founded in 1869, the Home Children Program sent over 100,000 poor and/or orphaned children from the UK to Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa to work on farms and in homes. Although many of the adults involved were philanthropists, many others did not have charitable motives.
