Live from Taganrog in Russia as Donbass evacuees settle in to temporary accommodation

Ruptly is live from a hotel in Taganrog, near Russia’s border with Ukraine, as evacuees from the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) make themselves at home in accommodation provided by authorities. Both Donetsk and Lugansk authorities announced a general evacuation on Saturday, February 19. Kiev and the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics have accused each other of ceasefire violations and shelling in recent days. The OSCE earlier on Friday confirmed that there were “multiple shelling incidents” across the frontline in the Donbass region.
