Learn how to make a Fabulous Polar Fleece Pillbox Beanie Cap Hat with Bow Headband. Two hats in one!
Comfortable cosy polar fleece beanie cap has a pretty trim bow headband that can be sewn to the hat or pinned so you can wear it separately. A warm hug for your head! Great for stocking up the Christmas stockings, a perfect gift. Nice double layer hat that can be worn indoors as well. A hug to warm heads suffering from hair loss due to chemo too.
Top is designed to fit the contours of your head. Best of all, we give you the pattern for the top for free to download onto your own computer. No need to spend any time trying to decipher my measurements! The hat beanie body is an easy rectangle to cut with the width going around your head cut with the stretch of the fleece fabric. Fleece is not created equally so cut a bit larger than you might otherwise as you can always trim extra away.
A free 3-page PDF is available for your to download from our website which is convenient and fast to get pattern piece, the top, right to your printer.

For the hat I used Winter Fleece from or . I am not affiliated with either site or any of my suppliers for that matter.
The measurements ...
Hat body - Width is head circumference plus about 1“ or 2.5 cm
Depth of the hat is between 10.5 -11 inches, or 27 to 28 cm
Bow Band Trim ... Width is head circumference plus about .25 inch or 6 mm
Depth of bow headband is 3.5 inches or about 9 cm.
Bow Casing is 1.5 inches wide or 38 mm and length can be trimmed back but start with about 5 inches or 128 mm or 13 cm.
Different brands and weights of fleece around the world are different so once you find a fleece you like you will be able to record your actual measurements for your fabric. I recommend a medium weight fabric with 2 way stretch and that has a nice finished side that resists pilling.
