Great rhythm guitar part, or the *greatest* rhythm guitar part?
This is almost certainly the most fun song on planet earth to cover. I’ve recorded too many versions to count. That aggressive rhythm guitar, the frantic energy, the wonderfully odd but somehow perfect lead guitar and drum fills. Pure magic.
You might notice I’ve made some adjustments to how I play John’s part. After listening to the Rock Band isolations, I don’t hear sliding up the neck in the intro, which John did live but apparently not on the album. Also, John’s playing on the bridge/middle 8 is barely audible, and I wonder if there might have been an edit that removed him entirely, or perhaps he simply stopped playing? Anyway, I hear a faint strumming in there somewhere in the mix, so I replicated it here as best as I could.
