Severe flooding and landslides hit Sao Goncalo, Brazil due to heavy rains. The storm that hit the state of Rio de Janeiro caused destruction and flooding in several places. According to the fire service, over the past day, the corporation received 226 reports of incidents related to rain. Heavy rain again hit the metropolitan area and the northern zone of Rio de Janeiro on Monday evening. Several neighborhoods in the municipality of São Gonçalo, heavily affected by the recent rains, were hit again by flooding. The emergency room of São Gonçalo was flooded due to flooding water. There were also landslides due to heavy rains. The Civil Defense of São Gonçalo reported that the municipality is in an Attention Internship due to the heavy rains that have been happening in the city since 7:30 pm this Monday. The rainfall index reached almost 200mm, still being updated.
