My newest oil painting portrays a moment in the long winter journey that many of the mountain dwelling elk face each year. Survival dictates the direction of almost everything this time of year for these hearty animals. What fascinates me the most is the way they interact with each other along this adventure and how that differs from region to region. I painted this in oils on canvas mounted to cradled board.
