Oxford in England is known for its prestigious university which makes it an intellectual center of England and Europe. Oxford was founded in the 12th is located in central southern England. On this cloudy day we start our walking tour at the Oxford castle and walk all around the city and see many of the classic buildings. University College and Magdalen College are located on the High Street which we will walk a bit up and down. Because of the architecture of the colleges in the medieval Old Town, the poet Matthew Arnold nicknamed Oxford the “City of Dreaming Spires.“ We couldn’t really have a walk inside the colleges yet we get a good impression of the area.
