Thanks to some rare footage that their record label released, The Knack’s My Sharona is here along with the ultrasound extended mix of the #1 smash from 1979. It is 38 years to the week that I post this, that the song reached pole position in America, and later in Canada and here in Australia. The track has remained one of my all time favourites in the past several decades. It’s vibrancy and irrepressible energy have made the power pop classic an enduring masterpiece. The band continued to record and tour but nothing they issued could possibly come close to the stratospheric success that Sharona provided them with. Sadly two of the group’s original members Doug Fieger and Bruce Gary are deceased. but the great music lives on. I hope all who see and hear this enjoy it!
