Mars Rover Finds Weird Object On Mars

Full Video: In 2014, NASA’s Curiosity rover detected a small, shiny object on the surface of Mars. The object was about half an inch (1.4 centimeters) long and appeared to be made of a shiny metal. The discovery caused a lot of excitement among space enthusiasts, who speculated that it might be a piece of debris from a spacecraft or other extraterrestrial technology. NASA scientists carefully studied the images and data from Curiosity’s ChemCam instrument, which uses a laser to vaporize rocks and analyze their chemical composition. They determined that the small, metallic-looking object was most likely a piece of Martian rock that had been eroded and polished by the planet’s harsh environment.
