Jazz organist Richard “Groove“ Holmes recorded his version of Erroll Garner’s tune “Misty“ in August 1965. It was released as a single on the Prestige label, and in 1966, it went to No. 44 on the Billboard Hot 100, to No. 12 on the Billboard R&B chart, and to No. 7 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart.
