USA: Protesters clash with police as homeless encampment crackdown begins in LA

Subscribe to our channel! Dozens of protesters gathered at Echo Park Lake in Los Angeles to protest the city plan to clear the homeless encampment were met by police in riot gear on Wednesday night. The city stated that the site needed plumbing and housing repairs, and workers quickly sealed off the area with a green fence. Police in riot gear were seen weapons and blocking access to the park while protesters chanted and held signs reading, ’care not cops.’ Clashes lasted well into Thursday morning. Los Angeles Chief of Police Michel Moore stated on social media that those already living in tents inside Echo Park Lake could remain overnight but had 24 hours to evacuate.
