Far North Queensland is predicted to lose out on around $125 million over the usually busy summer period in the wake of ex-Tropical Cyclone Jasper.
The flooding impacted tourism with an increase in cancellations and seasonably low bookings.
Residents in Far North Queensland meanwhile are getting on with a mammoth clean-up.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is due to visit the flood zone today where hundreds of people have been forced into makeshift accommodation.
Thousands of North Queenslanders were forced to quickly evacuate their homes when flood waters began to rise last Sunday.
Queensland Police have set up an anti-looting taskforce to protect vulnerable homes and businesses.
